Quicksand. I spent my childhood worrying about being sucked into quicksand.
I get to work with a lot of young people myself, teaching drama, speaking at schools, sometimes just talking with my nephews and nieces. Sometimes when I hear that judgemental, know-it-all, thought coming through, I reflect back on moments like these and say, "they're just a kid", its alright for them to feel that way right now. My job is to love them like so many others have done for me. Thanks for sharing this beautiful article. I still have letters you've written to me in the Navy. Your beautiful heart remains the same. Please continue to blog. I'll be listening.
